College Basketball Betting Report - Dec. 10

College Basketball Betting Report – Dec. 10, The nonconference portion of the college basketball season has been dominated so far by a foursome of national powers with Kentucky, Duke, Arizona and Louisville holding down the top four spots in both major rankings while boasting a combined record of 34-0 straight-up through this past Tuesday night’s games.

Virginia, out of the ACC and the Big East’s Villanova Wildcats have established themselves as a pair of potential gate crashers into this elite group with identical 9-0 SU records to start the new season. There are a host of one-loss teams that continue to jockey for position before the start of conference play in the new year, but the burning question through the first month of games is which teams have been building bettor’s bankrolls against the spread?

The team at the top of that list according to 5Dimes’ closing betting odds for college basketball is the Seton Hall Pirates, which is another team out of the Big East. They are 7-1 SU on the year and they have covered ATS in all seven games with posted betting odds. The Evansville Purple Aces, out of the Missouri Valley have also been a boon to the bankroll with a 6-0-1 record ATS in seven games with posted lines. The only other undefeated team in the nation ATS this season has been the West Coast Conference’s Pepperdine Wave at 5-0 ATS.

Of the top teams in the nation, the No. 6 Virginia Cavaliers have been the most profitable to wager on with a 7-2 mark ATS on 5Dimes’ Safe Sportsbooks closing betting lines. The total has stayed UNDER in four of seven games with posted lines and they are 3-1 ATS in their first four home games.

No. 1 Kentucky, out of the SEC is 9-0 SU with a 5-3-1 record ATS and the total has stayed UNDER in eight of the nine games. The No. 2 team in the country is the ACC’s Duke Blue Devils and they have a solid 6-2 record ATS this year to go along with their perfect 8-0 SU start. No. 7 Villanova is also 6-2 ATS after winning its first eight games SU and the total has stayed UNDER in six of those games.

Arizona comes in at No. 3 in the polls after a perfect 9-0 SU start, but the Wildcats have been no bargain to wager on with a 4-5 record ATS. They are an even 3-3 ATS in six home games this year. The No. 4 Louisville Cardinals are 8-0 SU in their first season in the ACC, but just 3-3-1 ATS. The total has gone OVER in three of four college basketball betting games with posted betting odds.
