College Basketball Betting Report - Jan. 28

The men’s college basketball season continues to gear-up for a run to the conference championships and March Madness. While both Kentucky and Virginia continue to pile-up the victories on the court with a combined straight-up record of 38-0, sports bettors are more interested in which teams have been racking-up the wins against the spread at the 5Dimes college basketball betting window.

The No. 1 Wildcats have been a pretty good bet as of late with a 3-1 record ATS in their last four games and on the year they are 11-7-1 ATS. They are 6-6 ATS at home this season and 3-1 ATS on the road. No. 2 Virginia has been a solid bet all season long with a profitable 13-6 record ATS and it has been able to turn things up a bit by covering in five of its last seven contests. The Cavaliers are 6-4 ATS in 10 home games this season and they have covered in six of seven games on the road.

Kentucky is clearly the top team in the SEC, but if you are looking for the best team to bet on in that conference then you might want to take a closer look at the Georgia Bulldogs. With this past Tuesday’s 70-62 victory against Vanderbilt as 5.5-point home favorites on 5Dimes closing college basketball betting odds, the Bulldogs have now won five of their last six games SU while boasting a perfect 6-0 record ATS. The total has gone OVER in five of their last seven games.

No. 7 Villanova at 18-2 SU (12-8 ATS) is the beast of the Big East this season, but if you go down a bit in the standings you will find that the hottest team in this conference to bet on right now is the DePaul Blue Demons. They are just 11-10 SU on the year with a 5-3 record in conference play, but the Demons have covered the spread in all eight of those sports betting contests.

Heading out west to the Pac-12, Arizona is the top team with a SU record of 18-2 that includes a 6-1 record in conference play. The Wildcats have backed that up at the betting window with a 5-2 mark ATS in their first seven Pac-12 games and when it comes to betting the total line on 5Dimes’ closing odds, you could have cashed-in with a play on the UNDER in five of those games.
