The Indianapolis Colts came up with a big effort when they needed one last week, and they are going to need big efforts in the final two games of the season as well. At the moment they are one game behind both the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans in the AFC South, and they have a tall order coming their way on Saturday, as they face off against the Oakland Raiders in a game that will get underway at 4:05 PM ET at the Oakland Coliseum. Only one of the Raiders is left from that last post-season team – kicker Sebastian Janikowski – and he was in the Super Bowl game where they lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Luck has thrown 27 touchdown passes on the season and has been intercepted only 10 times in 13 games, which is a rather low number for someone who takes so many chances downfield. Of course, there are drawbacks to dropping back and waiting for plays to develop, and Luck has been sacked 37 times. This might make him vulnerable to somebody like Khalil Mack, Oakland’s sack-happy linebacker (11 on the season), who is certainly going to get some votes for defensive player of the year.

They have allowed 4.6 yards per rushing attempt, and if Indianapolis could run the ball little better, they might be able to exploit that more. Indianapolis destroyed the Minnesota Vikings 34-6 at U.S. Bank Stadium last week, and they ruined the return of Adrian Peterson to action, holding him to just 22 yards on the ground. Generally this is not a real sturdy defensive front (4.5 yards per carry allowed), and it’s a good bet that Carr will be able to achieve some balance in the offense.
