MLB Betting Odds at Get That Bet – Angels Throw New Ace at Rangers on Friday Night

Joe Saunders of the Texas Rangers spent five years of his career pitching for the Los Angeles Angels. But after he left the team he has not found a whole lot of success in returning back “home.”

Saunders, who is seeking his first victory of the season (currently 0-2 with a 3.46 ERA), is also looking for the first win in any return visit to Anaheim. He is going to face an Angels pitcher who has been as hot as a firecracker of late, so that kind of minimizes the chances that Saunders will come up big on this trip.

He will be opposing Garrett Richards, who is 6-2 with a 2.87 earned run average, in a 2014 performance that might yet land him in the All-Star Game. But that’s not the entire story with him; not by a long shot.

And there is a three-way tie for the two American League wild card spots between Los Angeles, Detroit and the Yankees. But Texas isn’t all that far off, as they are 3.5 games behind that trio of clubs.
