The NBA on TNT Thursday Betting Report – Feb. 5

One extended winning streak came to an end earlier this week when Atlanta lost to New Orleans after reeling-off 19 straight wins and another one will be on the line this Thursday night when Cleveland plays host to the Los Angeles Clippers in the opener of a NBA betting double-header on TNT.

The Clippers come into this matchup with a straight-up 7-2 record in their last nine games, but they fell to Brooklyn their last time out 102-100 as 8.5-point road favorites. Thursday’s TNT nightcap sends Phoenix on the road to face the Portland Trail Blazers in a 10:30 p.m. (ET) tip. While they did cover as 2.5-point home underdogs in a tight two-point loss to the Grizzlies this past Monday, they are just 2-5 ATS in their last seven sports betting outings. The Trail Blazers have been one of the top teams in the Western Conference all year long, but they have hit a mid-season swoon with just three SU victories in their last 11 games. Portland snapped a three-game skid this past Tuesday in a 103-102 squeaker against Utah, but it could not cover as an 8.5-point favorite at home. It is now just 2-9 ATS during its current slide. Overall, the Trail Blazers are still a solid 21-5 SU at home this season with a 13-12-1 mark ATS in the 26 games.
