NBA on TNT Thursday Betting Report – Jan. 29

The final Thursday in the month of January features a pair of interesting NBA matchups on TNT starting with the Denver Nuggets on the road against a hot Memphis Grizzlies team in an 8 p.m. (ET) tip. At 10:30 p.m. from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the reeling Lakers will try and scare-up a win against the Chicago Bulls. Denver finds itself stuck in the midst of a straight-up seven-game losing streak while going 2-4-1 against the spread. The prospect that the Nuggets snap this skid on Wednesday night against New Orleans is not all that promising when you consider that they are listed as 6.5-point road underdogs on VietBet’s NBA betting odds for that game. They are 18-27 SU (18-23-3 ATS) this season with a SU 6-15 (8-12-1 ATS) record on the road.

The Grizzlies will look to extend their current winning streak to five games on Thursday night, but they have been tough to bet on lately with a 1-2-2 record ATS in their previous five outings. The total has stayed UNDER in four of those contests. Memphis remains in hot pursuit of Golden State for the top spot in the Western Conference at 33-12 SU, but it is barely above .500 ATS at 22-21-2. In Thursday’s nightcap, the Bulls will try and keep things rolling after Tuesday’s stunning 113-111 upset of Golden State as 11.5-point road underdogs. It was their third victory in their last four games both SU and ATS. This turnaround followed a 2-6 (SU and ATS) rough patch earlier this month. Chicago is 30-17 SU on the year with a 21-26 record ATS. With Tuesday’s win, it improved to 17-6 SU and 13-10 ATS on the road this year.

The Lakers were not going anywhere even with Kobe Bryant in the lineup, but now that he is lost for the year, any SU wins are going to be extremely difficult to come by. This past Tuesday’s 98-92 loss to Washington was their nine-straight setback SU, but they did cover as nine-point home underdogs. It was the first time Los Angeles covered during this nine-game slide. The Lakers are 12-34 SU (21-23-2 ATS) overall this season with a 6-17 SU (10-12-1 ATS) record in 23 previous home games.
