NHL Preview: Blackhawks, Sharks Still Undefeated In Regulation Heading In To Tuesday Night Showdown

With two teams still undefeated in regulation in the Chicago Blackhawks and San Jose Sharks, and a couple of talented teams struggling early in the Philadelphia Flyers and defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings, there is a lot to look forward to this week. The Blackhawks and Sharks are a combined 14-0-3 to open the year, and will meet Tuesday night at San Jose where the undefeated run could end for at least one team. Meanwhile, the Kings will look to get back on track when they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday, the same night the Flyers host the streaking Tampa Bay Lightning. Meanwhile, for fans of Original Six hockey rivalries, the game of the night this Wednesday features the Boston Bruins visiting the Montreal Canadiens in what should be an exciting tilt with the early Northeast Division lead on the line.

Lakers Look To Build Momentum On The Road; Grizzlies Push Forward Without Gay

While the result of the three-team trade that sent shockwaves through the NBA last week is still something to keep an eye on, the most interesting story is still the Los Angeles Lakers and whether this team can rally on the road this week to build some momentum. The Lakers opened a seven-game road trip with a tough loss at the Phoenix Suns, but have bounced back with back-to-back wins over the Minnesota Timberwolves and Detroit Pistons and will now look to build on that momentum continuing with a game against the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies will look to continue their push to the playoffs without Rudy Gay when they host the Suns on Tuesday, while the Toronto Raptors turn to their new star wing as they host the Boston Celtics on Wednesday.

Indiana Looks To Build Off Win Over Michigan

The Indiana Hoosiers will look to build on a massive win over the weekend when they travel to face Illinois on Thursday. Indiana dominated top-ranked Michigan on Saturday to knock them out of top spot, and will look to build on that victory when they take on a Fighting Illini team that is just 2-7 in conference play out of the gate. This week won’t be nearly as straight forward for the Wolverines as they try to get back on track against the same Ohio State team that handed them their first loss of the season earlier last month.

Haas Takes Aim At Defending Champion At This Week’s National Pro-Am

Bill Haas could only watch from the club house during the final round of the Phoenix Open, as Phil Mickelson marched his way to that final par putt on 18 to clinch his 41st-career PGA Tour victory on Sunday. However, it won’t be long before Haas is back on the course looking to rebound following a disappointing weekend, one in which he opened the third round playing in a trio with Mickelson but struggled so badly he was bumped down for the final round. Haas will be challenging Mickelson again at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am at Pebble Beach beginning Thursday, with a total purse of $6.5 million up for grabs. It won’t be easy with Mickelson coming off the win and serving as the defending champion at the event, but at least if he comes up short the Northern Trust Open will be just a week away. Haas won that tournament last year. For all of the latest PGA Tour news and odds, be sure to check out the best online sports betting sites for USA players like BetOnline American Sportsbook.
